Bargaining Update #7

First, we want to thank everyone who came out to the rally to support the bargaining team, it was a great turnout of employees from across the city!

On June 8 we met and bargained, evaluated the City’s response to our information request, and made a proposal based on that information and our members’ wishes at the last few meetings. Our proposal consisted of incentivizing voluntary stand-by. Our proposal was 1.5 hours of pay for every 8 hours on call. We’re willing to work with them on voluntary and pay incentives, however all they are interested in is implementing mandatory standby.  Your bargaining team is fighting to protect your union from being saddled with mandatory standby.

We will meet again next Thursday.
