Portland, OR - In response to Legacy CEO George Brown’s dissatisfaction with the terms reached for union-represented Legacy workers, Oregon

The bargaining team received the employer’s economic proposal today. It included a 4-year agreement with the following COLA:

-        1st year – 6/16/23: 4%, 12/1/23: 1%

-        2nd year – 3%

-        3rd year – 2.5%

-        4th year – 2.5%

Their proposal also included all employees paying more for insurance premiums. Individuals would pay 10% of premium and families will go from paying 7% of premium to 10%.

PORTLAND, OR - Four months after a flawed implementation of the Workday payroll system, errors continue to plague Oregon’s state employees. Many state workers have reported missing or incorrect paychecks, as well as delays in receiving benefits and reimbursements.

In exactly one month from now, we’ll come together as a union at the Salem Convention Center, conduct business to help make our union stronger and learn valuable insights from each other to take back to our own Locals at the end of the weekend. This year’s theme is United For Our Future.

March 17 was the second bargaining session with the city.

Bargaining was very productive with your bargaining team and management reaching tentative agreements on several articles.

This will allow up us to move forward on economic proposals including wage COLA’s, longevity, increasing the current top by three additional steps, and equity for park seasonals.

We have also proposed changes to overtime and language to protect our members by requiring 8 hours in between shifts.

Here are listing the article numbers and titles that have been TA’d:

On February 7 your bargaining team met with the City for the first time.

We provided the City with a robust proposal that included wage and compensation language that reflects the value we all bring to this community. We have also requested several pieces of information to help us decide if additional proposals are necessary.

Unfortunately, while we discussed ground rules, we were not able to come to an agreement on them.

We have not agreed on when to meet again, but are exchanging times and dates for a minimum of four more bargaining sessions.
